 <span style="font-size:14px;">The <strong>OPUMA Conference 2017</strong> arises from the <strong>SPIE-UNAM Chapter</strong>´s intention to give a sequence to the first <strong>OPUMA conference 2016</strong>, which was held at UNAM, having our main events at CCADET-UNAM and Science Faculty. </span></div>

 <span style="font-size: 14px;">     </span><span style="font-size:14px;">This event was honored with the presence of researchers such as, Dr. Russell Chipman from the University of Arizona (USA), Dr. Pablo Loza-Alvarez from Instituto de Ciencias Fotónicas (ICFO, Spain) as well as Dr. Carlos Escobedo from Queen’s University (Canada) and two more researches from UNAM, whom gave a series of talks during the three days of the event. </span></div>

 <span style="font-size: 14px;">     </span><span style="font-size:14px;">The <strong>Ultrafast Optics School 2017</strong>, arises from collaborations between the Non-linear Optics group from CCADET-UNAM and Universidad de Salamanca (Spain), with the purpose of strengthen partnership and create a strong networking in the optics and photonics field. </span></div>

 <span style="font-size:14px;">     The first precedent of this school was the event entitled <strong>"PRIMER TALLER DE PULSOS ULTRACORTOS Y APLICACIONES"</strong> (2011), which took place at Instituto de Ciencias Físicas (ICF) UNAM in Cuernavaca, Morelos, organized by UNAM and Centro de Investigación Científica y de Educación Superior de Ensenada (CISESE), counting with the participation of international researchers from Imperial College, Swansea University and Rutherford Appleton Lab, as well as UNAM, CISESE and Universidad Autónoma Metropolitana (UAM).</span></div>
